Mr. Ignoffo advises clients on regulatory strategy, market surveillance, and compliance for prediction markets, digital assets, and derivatives. He helps firms evaluate new products and business models where the regulatory path is not yet clearly defined, then advises on structuring them to meet regulatory expectations. His work also spans designated contract market (DCM) and derivatives clearing organization (DCO) applications and operations, as well as surveillance program design. He advises on Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and National Futures Association (NFA) matters for registered intermediaries.
Previously, he served as Global Head of Market Surveillance at Gemini. There, he built a global surveillance program designed for 24/7 markets, covering spot crypto, perpetual futures, event contracts, tokenized stocks, and equities. He also served as Chief Regulatory Officer of Gemini Titan, LLC, a CFTC-designated DCM operating a prediction market, and as Chief Compliance Officer of Gemini Olympus, LLC, a CFTC-registered DCO. He led both entities from initial application through CFTC approval and into live operations, and helped guide regulatory strategy and CFTC engagement as Gemini expanded into new digital asset and derivatives products.
Mr. Ignoffo began his career at NFA, where he led forensic audits and investigations of intermediaries, including futures commission merchants (FCMs), introducing brokers (IBs), commodity pool operators (CPOs), commodity trading advisors (CTAs), and retail foreign exchange dealers (RFEDs). He later joined NFA's Market Regulation department, where he conducted market surveillance for DCMs and swap execution facilities (SEFs) across a broad range of futures and swap products. That experience gives him a practical understanding of what regulators and examiners look for.
He received his MBA with concentrations in strategy and economics from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and his B.S. in finance from Indiana University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He has passed the Series 3 and Series 34 examinations and has completed NFA's Swaps Proficiency Requirements.
